You will be an experienced and qualified SENDCo and passionate about inspiring children to learn and be supportive of others in sharing best practice and working collaborative with a dedicated and committed team. Leading a team is essential as is demonstrative experience of managing EHCPS, consultations and links with other agencies.

Tooting Primary School opened in September 2013 and is a successful two-form entry school and we wish to recruit across our school from September.

You will have:

  • Experience of working with children with ASD or who have additional learning and behavioural needs
  • Be creative, flexible and able to adapt your teaching to respond to individual learners
  • Have an understanding of children’s stages of development
  • Be able to manage a team
  • Be committed to continuing professional development

About Tooting Primary School

Tooting Primary School, London, is a free, mixed, primary school for children aged 4-11, founded by the Graveney Trust.

The school, which was established to address what was a significant shortfall of primary places in the area, opened in September 2013 with two full cohorts of Reception pupils. By September 2014, it was heavily oversubscribed.  As well as on-site provision, the school also have access to facilities at Graveney School.

Tooting Primary School is split over three floors and is designed to cater for 63 children in each year group. The school is two-form entry with the facility to admit three ASD children into each year group. These children have access to a resource base with specialist staff and equipment, including a sensory pod.

Values and vision

Tooting Primary School’s pastoral care focuses on building self-esteem in the belief that this, in combination with careful planning, building good relationships and ensuring that the highest expectations are in place, will result in all pupils achieving to the highest level.  In addition to developing a robust, creative curriculum that will give pupils the opportunity to learn key skills in all academic areas, the school also aims to ensure that they develop a 'can-do' attitude towards life and learning.
