This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teacher of Biology with sound specialism knowledge looking for career progression to take on the role of Head of Subject. The successful candidate will be joining a ‘Good’ school and a faculty passionate about their students and about those students succeeding and achieving their ‘Personal Best’. Applicants must have excellent communication skills to teach throughout the age and ability range, including A Level.
Ideally candidates should have management experience, or be able to demonstrate good management skills, particularly in the delivery, co-ordination and development of this specific curriculum area. In addition, there is a need for candidates to have the ability and willingness to teach across the other Science specialisms. Determination to influence positive changes and assist in the further development of the faculty and whole school in other areas such as literacy, numeracy and narrowing the gap is a prerequisite. The postholder will make a significant contribution to raising standards and developing staff within the faculty as the curriculum lead in their subject.
Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to accept new ideas and a thorough commitment to student learning with evidence of high level of subject specialism and professional development, as well as a flexible and adaptable attitude to meet the needs of the faculty and the school.
