The Sultan’s School is looking to appoint a Head of Boarding and a Boarding Parent (2 posts) for August 2021. This position would suit a married couple. Please note that to qualify for this post, you must hold a recognised teaching qualification.

The boarding programme at The Sultan’s School is unique in that all the boarders are part of our scholarship programme that was established by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. The boys join the school in Year 6 and stay until they graduate in Year 13. Many of our graduate scholars now hold prominent positions in Omani society.

The Sultan’s School was established in 1977 under the sponsorship of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and offers a bilingual international programme from KG through to Year 13. In Primary (KG to Year 6) and Middle School (Years 7 to 9) we offer a modified English National Curriculum and in Years 10 and 11 we offer the Cambridge IGCSE. In Years 12 and 13 our students follow the IBDP.

Over the last four years, our IB results have been outstanding with an average pass rate of 97%. The vast majority of our graduates go to university outside of Oman, many on government scholarships.

The Sultan’s School has one of the largest school campuses in the world and is blessed with outstanding facilities. Over the last five years, the school has invested heavily in a campus modernisation and expansion programme that includes additional housing for staff, a new boarding house, a 400m tartan running track, an additional cafeteria and the expansion of a number of classrooms. Our next project will be the construction of a 7000 sqm STEAM centre.

Oman is a stunningly beautiful and peaceful country, and our internationally recruited staff stay an average of 7 years.
