Are you a talented and dynamic practitioner? Do you wish play a key role in a highly successful school in the heart of East London?

Oaklands School is a fully inclusive school with a wealth of opportunities for all learners to achieve their full potential. We are a school which serves the local community and promotes co-operation, responsibility and respect.

This is an exciting time in the development of the school. Last academic year we opened our new Sixth Form building and we are due to have further extensive building work in the next few years as we increase our school roll. This is because of our successes over the last ten years.

Ofsted, March 2022 says

“This is a school whose ethos is truly reflected in the pupils –they work hard, show kindness to all and take up opportunities to broaden their experiences.”

“Leaders and governors are restless in their pursuit of excellence. They want the very best for the pupils here. Staff share this purpose and enjoy the collaborative staff culture. They feel well supported by leaders who engage with them about matters of workload and wellbeing”

We are looking for an ambitious and inspiring Head of Business and Economics teacher to join us in September 2022 to lead our developing Business and Economics department. Economics A-Level is currently taught in year 12 and 13 and BTEC Business Level 3 Extended Diploma was introduced in September 2020. They will be an enthusiastic, and committed leader who will contribute to the continued development of the subjects at Oaklands, especially in shaping our future offer at Key Stage 4. Leadership opportunities may be considered for a lesser experienced candidate through an active talent management programme.

The successful candidate will be:
