About the role

This is an exciting time to join The Cottesloe School as Head of Business Studies, as the national post-16 offer undergoes change. From September 2023 we will be offering GCSE Business Studies and developing our Sixth Form offer to include A Level Business.

Business Studies is a popular and successful subject at Key Stage 4 and 5. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious leader to join a thriving school.

We can offer you a rewarding opportunity to work in a welcoming and supportive environment. Our students are eager to learn, work hard and achieve well. Pupils and staff treat each other with respect and courtesy. Around the building and in lessons, pupils behave very well. Senior leaders are ambitious for Cottesloe students. The Headteacher is supported by talented and committed staff. Staff are very proud to work at the school. They feel valued because leaders consider their workload. (Ofsted - Continues to be a Good school, November 2021).

Learning about Business Studies will provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to prepare them for employment or higher education. Business Studies has an essential core of knowledge and applied skills, giving learners the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the business environment. Students will develop an understanding of spotting business opportunities, they will know how to put ideas into practice, develop skills in growing a successful business and will understand internal and external influences on organisations

About you

We are looking for an inspirational and ambitious leader who is focused on raising aspirations and outcomes for students in Business Studies.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity for an ambitious leader, with proven examination experience, to step into middle leadership and develop alongside other talented leaders within a strong leadership framework. You will be an outstanding practitioner with a clear vision to inspire students, raising their aspiration and achievement.

We look forward to welcoming applications to join our friendly and supportive school.
