MPS1 – UPS3 plus TLR 1A (£10,151)

Easter 2019

An outstanding Head of Department for Science is required for our rapidly improved academy which was judged as good by Ofsted in November 2016. You’ll be working with 'Principal of the Year’, Joy Ballard in our multi-million-pound school building.

The successful candidate must be an excellent practitioner who is able to lead by example and inspire others.

If you feel you have the skills and determination to make a difference and to help and transform the lives of young people on the Island, we would like to hear from you.

Based on the Isle of Wight, Ryde Academy is an 11 to 18 years Secondary Academy and is sponsored by the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET). Ofsted Inspectors recognised Ryde Academy as a "rapidly improving school" which "students are extremely proud to attend" and "staff feel well supported."

Known as the “Garden Isle” because of its beautiful landscape, unspoilt beaches, rugged coastline and beautiful countryside, the Isle of Wight is a perfect location to live and work. Ryde Academy is also easily commutable from the south coast with excellent transport links in Ryde to both Portsmouth and Southsea.

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to- date resources available to them. In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme, Cycle2work, childcare vouchers and Westfield rewards.

This position is required to commence Easter 2019.
