Due to continued expansion, Saltley Academy seeks to appoint a creative and inspiring Head of Design and Technology, who can lead and develop our successful department. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and be able to motivate pupils and staff through inspirational teaching and knowledge. They will be joining a very well-led, vibrant and successful team, committed to providing a quality experience for our students and ensuring that they achieve their full potential. Saltley Academy is a 11-16 comprehensive school in the heart of multi-cultural Birmingham. The Academy is progressing fast in its mission to develop outstanding learners, ensure academic success and nurture happy citizens in a supportive and inspiring environment. For the last two years Progress 8 has been well above the national average, we have recently been graded Good by Ofsted, and during the recent inspection one of our students described our school as “outstanding, resilient and loving”. The Academy was also recently awarded the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Gold Award.

Saltley Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in the West Midlands serving students between the ages of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Birmingham has approximately 990 students on roll. It is part of the Washwood Heath Multi-Academy Trust.

Formerly Saltley School, Saltley Academy converted to academy status in 2015. The school has use of the facilities at Saltley Wellbeing Centre.
