The role
Smart Teachers is looking to recruit a Head of Drama for a good academy in East London. The Drama department offers a fantastic range of opportunities for our students across all year groups and continues to grow in popularity each year, it is taught at GCSE and A level and also the BTEC Tech Award at KS4. The successful candidate will join a strong team of subject specialist teachers who deliver a broad, diverse and engaging Drama curriculum. The curriculum explores different historical, cultural and social topics at every key stage, enabling students to express their own experiences and discover the wider world through performance.
The Academy is located in a state of the art building, close to Haggerston Station and just over a mile from the heart of the City of London. The Drama department includes a purpose-built performance hall with bleacher seating, a dividing wall to create spaces on two levels, cinema projection capability, audio visual lighting and sound systems.
Requirements
To be considered for the Head of Drama position, you will:
• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Relevant specialist qualifications and experience in your subject specialism with the ability to teach at all Key Stages and all abilities.
• Excellent classroom practitioner.
• Commitment to improving practice through reflection, appropriate professional development and through being open to advice and feedback.
• Evidence of continuing professional development or relevant research
