The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled teacher to join this Catholic 11 – 18 comprehensive school judged “Good” by Ofsted in October 2022 and “Outstanding” by the Archdiocese of Southwark in 2019.
It is an exciting time to join St John Bosco College as we continue our journey towards being an outstanding school now that we are fully settled into our state-of-the-art building in the heart of Battersea. Our success can be credited to our committed and dedicated staff who strive for excellence and promote high aspirations throughout the school. The successful candidate will receive a full programme of CPD and have opportunities for career development within the school.
Drama provision at SJBC has grown in recent years; the subject is taught through KS3 and there is stable uptake for Drama GCSE in Year 10 & 11. The current Head of Department has established a successful culture of annual whole school productions, supported by the whole school community.
We are seeking a dynamic and talented individual to provide leadership to the Drama department, implementing a programme of high-quality teaching from KS3-4 as well as growing a broad extra-curricular programme. We hope to develop a KS5 drama provision in the next 2-3 years. This post would be suitable either for a more experienced teacher, or for a newly qualified teacher who can draw on other prior professional experience of education or leadership.
The successful candidate will:
· Be able to teach Drama at KS3-5.
· Be actively supportive of the Catholic values and beliefs of St John Bosco College and to make a positive contribution to the wider life of the school.
