Our Place Schools Ltd is a residential school for young people with severe learning difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Condition, medical and behavioural needs.  Our ten young people, aged 9-19 have a wide range of special educational needs and each has an individualised curriculum designed to meet their own particular needs. Working in a beautiful rural setting just 5 minutes from Malvern and close to the A44, we have free parking on site and subsided lunches. 

We’re looking to appoint an inspirational, visionary individual, with the energy to lead the development of the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a leader who has the skill, experience and tenacity to grow and inspire your staff team to ensure positive learning outcomes for our young people. You will be able to reflect on your skillset and draw on your experience to drive the strategic direction of the school. The Head of Education will be responsible for the smooth running of the school, ensuring regulatory compliance and collaboration with the care home.

We are looking for you to provide a positive, interactive and stimulating environment for each young person. You will need experience of direct teaching, monitoring learning outcomes and overseeing activities and resources within school. Part of the role includes preparation of reports and attending relevant meetings to discuss educational progress. You will be a credible leader and be able to build effective working relationships both within the organization and externally. The Head of Education ensures the school is adequately staffed at all times, the day to day management of staff, management of resources within budget and works to promote community engagement.  In addition, you will follow all H&S guidance, ensuring regulatory compliance, promote safeguarding and develop the education plan for each young person. The role will require on call responsibility.

Ideally we’re looking for you to have:

· QTS is essential for this role

· Experience of being a senior teacher/deputy or contributing to management of school setting

· Experience of managing a staff team

· Accountability of operating a service within budget

· Experience of working in an SEN setting

· Knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Condition and other learning disabilities and behavioural issues

· Experience of independent schools Ofsted is desirable

This role offers 13 weeks’ annual leave, working term time only. Our Place operates a NEST pension scheme; most people will be eligible to enroll.
