Job overview

Over the last few years Hull has transformed into a nationally recognised and celebrated city, while at the same time the council has responded to the many challenges faced by the public sector. We are determined that all our children and young people get the best possible start in life, and to help us fulfil our ambitions we have created a new post to lead the 11-19 education agenda in Hull.

Our Head of Education Standards and Partnerships (11-19) will develop our relationships with secondary schools and academies, working with MATs and school leaders to ensure that they have the support and challenge they need. You will help to co-ordinate the teaching schools’ alliance, maintain the LA’s oversight of standards, and ensure that there is sufficient accountability. In addition, you will have a range of cross-phase responsibilities including education safeguarding, SEND standards and Governor support.

We are therefore seeking candidates with a teaching qualification and senior experience in an education setting. You will have experience of working in a multi-school environment, a MAT or for a local authority, with the ability to forge strong and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders. Above all, you will have the determination and focus to drive our upward attainment trajectory and ensure that all of Hull’s 11-19 year old pupils get the best possible education.

To find out more visit www.hull-leadership.com or contact Luke Judd or Rachel Salvia (07594 250062) at GatenbySanderson.

Closing date: 25 October 2019.
