Sri KDU International School Subang Jaya is located in the outskirts of the safe, modern and vibrant capital city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are a growing FOBISIA and COBIS associate member school, in our seventh academic year, and we are looking for both an enthusiastic and creative teacher to lead our highly successful English department for August 2024.


Role Overview:

In this role, you will take on the vital responsibility of leading our dynamic and highly ambitions English Department. We teach a British Curriculum inclusive of IGCSE and A Levels. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the educational experience of our young learners, equipping them with the skills they need to succeed.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Vision:

  • Provide visionary leadership to the English department, aligning strategies with the school's commitment to holistic character development, academic excellence, and future-proofing education.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, encouraging innovation and excellence among the English teaching team.


2. Academic Excellence:

  • Drive academic excellence by implementing innovative teaching methods, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.


3. Character Development:

  • Infuse character development into the English curriculum, emphasizing values such as critical thinking, empathy, and communication skills.
  • Encourage extracurricular activities that promote creativity, leadership, and teamwork among students.


4. Future-Proof Preparation:

  • Stay abreast of educational trends and developments to ensure the English department prepares students for future challenges and opportunities.
  • Integrate technology and real-world applications into the curriculum to enhance students' skills relevant to the 21st century.


5. Welfare and Safeguarding:

  • Prioritize the welfare and safeguarding of students implementing policies and procedures to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, promoting their well-being and personal development.


6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead regular reviews and evaluations of the English department's performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous professional development, supporting the growth and advancement of the teaching team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant teaching degree.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of the British Curriculum ,with a focus on IGCSE and A Level
  • Expertise in ELL
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
