We are currently seeking a dedicated and dependable Head of English Department to join our esteemed institution. This role is pivotal in fostering positive relationships among faculty, students, and families, emphasizing assistance, guidance, support, and conflict resolution. While overseeing the English department, the primary focus remains on fostering collaborative engagement within the community.

Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and enhance the English department, ensuring that the unique needs of our secondary students are prioritized in all practices and policies.

Spearhead the development of the school's values and objectives to unlock the full potential of each student while nurturing their social and personal growth.

Cultivate a culture of accountability, reflection, and continuous learning, promoting improvement for both faculty and students alike.

Champion pastoral care and student well-being within the secondary segment.

Collaborate with departmental leaders to devise and implement a dynamic curriculum tailored to engage primary students effectively.

Foster a professional learning environment by coordinating a comprehensive, ongoing professional development program that encourages collaboration and learning.

Support departmental leaders in optimizing the performance and impact of key learning areas such as numeracy, literacy, and pastoral care.

Skills:

Proven experience in senior leadership or demonstrated potential to excel in such a role.

Proficiency in financial management, strategic planning, governance, and marketing within an educational context.

Familiarity with or willingness to acquire knowledge of relevant government legislation and policies affecting schools.

Advocate for strategies that enhance the success and well-being of all students.

Exemplary teaching skills, capable of delivering engaging and profound learning experiences.

Outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with students, faculty, and parents.

Extensive experience in fostering a connected school community, nurturing a positive culture, and prioritizing student welfare and pastoral care.

Demonstrated leadership prowess with a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and the mentorship and development of staff.
