HEAD OF ENGLISH

A flourishing independent prep school are recruiting a Head of English for January 2018, although a later start is possible for the right candidate. This is a full time and permanent position. A broad and engaging curriculum combined with an outstanding range of extra-curricular opportunities mean that children are encouraged to be creative, curious and discover their talents and develop the skills for success. The prep school is happy and vibrant, where fortunate pupils are supported by enthusiastic and dedicated teachers and role models. The school’s most recent ISI inspection was graded excellent in all areas. The school are searching for an engaging Head of English teacher who is an outstanding classroom practitioner, has a passion for English, and the talent to lead and further develop a successful department. Knowledge of the Common Entrance syllabus would be highly desirable.  Experience of teaching English at KS2 and KS3 is a must and experience of teaching other subjects would also be desirable.  The successful candidate will be a team player, have excellent organisational skills, be a committed teacher and want to be fully involved in what is a busy school community.

Sherborne Prep is a leading co-educational independent day and boarding school for children aged 3 to 13, with boarding available from ages 7 to 13.
