About us
Pioneer Secondary Academy is a smaller than average secondary school with a calm atmosphere and and high ambitions for its students who are:
“confident, articulate young people who think carefully about their role in the world and display positive behaviour and attitudes.”
This is an exciting time to become part of a school being launched under new leadership and governance and planning for a dynamic successful future. We are now seeking to appoint an individual who shares our passion for learning and our determination to change lives through the education we provide.
We place great passion on staff well-being and development, at all levels with an extensive programme of professional development, offering a whole range of opportunities for colleagues to develop their potential within and beyond Pioneer.
Our aim is to provide a knowledge rich education underpinned by our core values whilst preparing the next generation for an evolving digital world. If you are a driven and dedicated practitioner who is eager to grow and learn, by building effective relationships and instilling in students a love of English, then we want to hear from you.
You will be well-supported by a strong team of professionals who always go the ‘extra mile’ for our young people.
As Head of English you will be responsible for:
• Leading a team and raising the profile of English across the school;
• Delivering catch up and Closing the Gap Interventions;
• Developing students' Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural Development, within the
subject area;
• Supporting the development of learning and teaching strategies within English.
The successful candidate will:
• Have excellent subject knowledge;
• Have a strong classroom presence and be able to model excellence in the classroom;
• Have a proven track record of achieving outstanding student attainment outcomes;
• Be experienced, enthusiastic and able to mentor and coach less experienced staff within the English Faculty;
• Offer a substantial commitment to extra-curricular activities;
• Join a school that recognises and rewards staff that are willing to go beyond normal expectations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified, suitably experienced and enthusiastic teacher to further develop their leadership and management skills in preparation for future leadership roles. If you are seeking a challenging and highly rewarding position, enriching the lives of the students who attend Khalsa Secondary Academy and members of the local community, then we are keen to hear from you.
