We are looking for someone with talent, ambition, and experience to join our Extended Senior Leadership Team and to lead the English faculty at Lawnswood School.  

The successful candidate will have experience of subject middle leadership, or be an outstanding aspiring middle leader and will have a strong track record of delivering improvement.  They will also be a confident leader of staff, able to inspire a love of English in students of all ages and have a commitment to whole school literacy and reading.

We need someone with enthusiasm, a ‘can do’ mentality, an ability to inspire others and translate a vision into reality.  We will expect you to lead the English faculty and oversee the curriculum, including standards and outcomes; teaching and learning; outcomes and engagement.  You will be supported by a team of talented and dedicated colleagues.

Lawnswood School is a mixed, non-denominational community secondary school and sixth form for pupils aed 11-18. It is located in West Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The school, founded in its current form in 1972, has capacity for up to about 1,500 pupils. Its predecessor schools were the Leeds Modern School, a boys' grammar school, and Lawnswood High School for Girls.
