Head of Faculty - Humanities

We are seeking to appoint an innovative, committed and inspirational leader to further develop Humanities across our school. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership of all the curriculum disciplines across the Humanities area.
The Humanities team comprises 12 teachers. There are specialist designated classrooms and a humanities resource room.
Humanities subjects are very popular option choices at KS4 and KS5. The large Humanities department currently offers RE, History, Geography, and Sociology at KS4 and KS5.
Humanities is recognised as being a strong area within the school and the team have an innovative and forward thinking approach to student learning achieving very good outcomes for students, with examination results expected to be well above national averages across in all subject areas this summer.
We welcome applications from outstanding teachers with the experience or potential to lead our Humanities Faculty. The ability to specialise in Sociology would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will:
Be an inspirational leader of teachers and students with a passion for the teaching of humanities across all key stages.
- Be an excellent and innovative teacher, who will work with the humanities team to ensure that entitlement is of the highest quality, stretching and inspiring our most able students and continuing to help drive up standards.
- Have a proven track record of achieving high quality outcomes particularly at KS4 and KS5.
