Following the recent restructure of our middle leadership team, we are in a position to appoint a permanent Head of Faculty for Maths and Science from September 2018. 

This position is a middle leadership position, as part of the school’s Wider Leadership Team. Due to the staffing vacancy within the school, the ability to teach Science to GCSE level is an essential requirement for the role.

Wirral Hospitals’ School is an 11-16 Resource for young people who are unable to access mainstream education due to health issues. We are an Ofsted Outstanding school and you will be joining a vibrant, enthusiastic and happy staff team, who are fully committed to ensuring the best outcomes for all our young people. 

You will be a well-qualified, dynamic and outstanding teacher who is passionate about teaching and who believes that all students have the ability to progress and succeed. 

You will have experience of teaching at least one science subject to GCSE level, preferably to students with complex needs, and a willingness and ability to teach other science subjects to GCSE level as required. You will have a sound working knowledge of the barriers to learning faced by young people, particularly those with ASC and mental health difficulties.

You will be enthusiastic, creative and innovative and will be able to further develop the teaching, learning and assessment of maths and science at the school.

Visits to the school, pre or post the application closing date, are strongly encouraged and may be used to help determine the shortlisted field for interview.
