We seek to appoint an outstanding Head of RE who has a proven track record.  You will need to be able to lead an already vibrant RE department and be a hardworking enthusiastic and ambitious teacher.  Applications are considered from both exceptional existing or aspiring leaders in RE.

As Britain’s first federated school, our campus embraces two schools, Boys’ and Girls’ with a co-ed Sixth Form.  We are a World Class School, hold Beacon School status and work in effective partnership with several organisations including City in Excellence in Teaching and East London Teaching School Alliance. With state of the art buildings and facilities and a team of innovative, experienced and dedicated professional staff, Bishop Challoner is an exciting and supportive environment in which to work and develop your career.


We are looking for professionals with:
•    Support of our Catholic Ethos
•    Experience of leadership in curriculum development in RE
•    A good track record of monitoring students progress to ensure all achieve
•    The ability to lead and motivate staff
•    Evidence of excellent classroom practice – good and outstanding practice only
•    High expectations of pupil attainment and behaviour
•    Experience of leading liturgies
•    Experience of participating in and leading retreats
•    Good organisation and communication skills
