Tes is supporting the appointment of a Head of Geography at a Secondary school in North Hackney. 

The school are seeking exceptional candidate to lead their Geography department, The curriculum will be fully bookleted by July 2024 and requires a strong candidate to take planning and delivery to the next level. As a school, they are committed to Geography as a discipline. All middle leaders are open to apply to their Associate Senior Leadership programme which involves joining the SLT as a paid position for a year.

The school believe in the power of the curriculum and so intentionally have the following at the core of their practice:   

  • A pragmatic approach to pedagogical practice that reduces teacher workload     
  • Teaching powerful knowledge rather than parroting the knowledge of the powerful     
  • CPD which is rooted in the best educational research, often with a foundation in cognitive science
