Bede's is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and ambitious Head of History & Religious Studies/Theology, Philosophy and Religion from September 2024 at our Prep School in Eastbourne.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful postholder to work with the Head of Faculty of Languages & Humanities to ensure that an appropriate, challenging and effective curriculum is provided for all pupils. The individual will provide structured leadership for teachers within their departments, leading the development of long-term (annual) and medium-term course and curriculum plans ensuring that all subject teachers have effective and appropriate lesson plans, and are supported in their delivery in a way which brings out the best of pupils and teachers alike.

Each academic year, you will be required to produce a Development Plan for History & Religious Studies/Theology, Philosophy and Religion within the School, to include ambitious goals that fit with and supports the School’s aims and objectives of providing outstanding academic teaching and learning.

This is a Permanent position with the working hours of 8:00 - 18:00, Monday - Friday with contribution to the School’s activity and weekend programmes. This position will commence from September 2024.
