Lawrence Sheriff School is an outstanding boys’ grammar school of approximately 930 students, over 300 of whom are in the sixth form. When inspected by Ofsted in 2007 the school was judged to be outstanding in all 42 categories. In April 2012 Lawrence Sheriff became a National Teaching School. We are seeking an inspirational teacher and dynamic leader to head up one of the most popular departments in the school during the next stage of its development.
The successful candidate will have first class leadership skills and a thorough understanding of key issues in running a large curriculum area, whilst also being committed to students achieving their full potential through excellence in teaching and learning. You will be a History practitioner with excellent ICT skills and the ability to teach KS3, GCSE, AS and A level History.
The role will include developing and communicating a clear vision, and providing leadership and management within the subject area. Our students enjoy the challenge of enquiry and have high levels of reasoning skills.
