Job overview

Applications are invited for the position of Head of House (Avondale), to lead one of our boarding houses. This is an exciting opportunity to join our School boarding community as it embarks on a period of development.

We are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and charismatic individual who has prior experience in a boarding environment with a full understanding of the social and personal needs of today’s teenagers. It is essential that the successful candidate is willing to play a full part in the life of the School including our extensive extra-curricular programme. It would be desirable if the candidate was able to teach English as an Additional Language (EAL).

This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone with boarding experience to lead the day to day running of a boarding house, enabling that individual to thrive in the school community and professionally develop in a supportive, friendly environment with excellent direction from the Senior Leadership Team.

While the role has traditionally been that of “Housemistress”, we are looking for the best candidate, irrespective of gender. This is a residential role.

The candidate reports to the Assistant Head Pastoral & Boarding and ultimately the Head, and is expected to work closely with the other Head of House, School Pastoral Leaders plus the House team.

Closing date: 5pm, 2 October 2018.

Interviews: w/c 8 October 2018.
