Bishop David Brown School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational Head of Humanities. This role is 2 days per week and is a job share.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious middle leader looking to develop their experience of leadership in this subject area that includes History, Geography, RS, Citizenship and PSHE.
Bishop David Brown is a small 11-16 mixed school with friendly staff near Woking in Surrey. The department consists of seven members of staff. The subjects within the department are a very popular choice at GCSE level with many students choosing one or more subjects to study. The department runs a variety of extra-curricular trips including a History trip to Berlin and the World War One Battlefields.
At its last Ofsted inspection the school was rated as Good with Outstanding features.
The successful applicant will have high expectations of all students and a strong desire to succeed, in addition to the expectations of a classroom teacher, the Head of Humanities has overall responsibility for leading the Department in fostering a love of the Humanities subjects and raising the profile of RE, History, Geography, PSHE and Citizenship throughout the school.
