Copley Academy is a smaller than average mixed 11-16 school with six forms of entry and is the main secondary school serving the area of Stalybridge within the borough of Tameside to the west of the Manchester boundary. The school is part of Great Academies Education Trust which is a small multi academy trust which spans the boroughs of Rochdale and Tameside.

The Head of Key Stage 4 must teach one of the following subjects: Mathematics, English, Science
