Job overview
Head of Lea Valley Academy
Permanent/Full Time
L33-39 Outer London
Required January 2020
Lea Valley is seeking an appropriately experienced leader to be its Headteacher from January 2020. The Academy was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted but currently progress is below average and it needs a new leader to reverse the decline in pupil outcomes. Lea Valley is an 11-19 academy with 1200 students on roll.
The Academy is a friendly place with high quality buildings, constructed under a PFI agreement. It is located close to J24 of the M25 and so enjoys good links to London and surrounding areas.
The post would suit an experienced deputy seeking a first headship or a serving headteacher seeking to build on successful experience. Lea Valley serves an ethnically diverse community but one that is characterised by social and economic deprivation.
This post offers a great opportunity to bring about rapid improvement in a welcoming community. But it will require hard work! You will lead a committed and experienced Leadership Team, a group of enthusiastic and engaged teachers, hardworking associate staff- and students who are fun, sparky and respectful.
You will not face this challenge alone as Lea Valley Academy is a member of the Edmonton Academy Trust.
The closing date for applications is 9am, Monday 14 October 2019. Shortlisting will take place on Wednesday 16 October 2019 with interviews on 29 October and 30 October 2019.
