Head of Learning

Required for September 2019

Knightsbridge School currently educates 430 boys and girls from ages 3 – 13 and from 2020 we are excited to be expanding our provision to the age of 16.  The school, which is set in the heart of London, combines a warm and nurturing environment with excellent resources, a commitment to teamwork and the professional development of staff.

This role is ideal for a collaborative, creative and pragmatic educational leader who will not only improve and develop our existing education provision but also lead the development of all curricular aspects for years 9 – 11.   We constantly strive to keep abreast of the latest developments in educational practice and to embrace opportunities for improvement and new ideas.  The Head of Learning will be committed to the KS philosophy and will make a difference to the all-round education of our pupils.  This role is not a dry role consisting only of curriculum and timetable; the right candidate will be our teaching and learning expert, working closely with and through others to shape and implement an exciting and inspiring provision for all our pupils.

Expressions of interest may be made by submission of a CV and covering letter.  For further details please see the school website www.knightsbridgeschool.com or contact Rosie Binns at HR@knightsbridgeschool.com or 020 7590 9000.

Knightsbridge School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.  All successful candidates will be subject to DBS checks and other relevant employment checks.

Vision and values

The preparatory school aims to establish a love of learning in each student by creating a positive and stimulating environment. Teachers strive to provide a holistic, balanced and varied curriculum so each pupil can reach their full academic potential. The values they promote are: mutual respect, independent thinking, positive attitudes and participation.

Knightsbridge School concentrates on classical education, with an emphasis on literacy and reasoning, as well as encouraging children to take part in extra-curricular activities. It offers an extensive programme, from judo and fencing to ballet and cookery. A modern language, either Italian, Spanish, Mandarin or Greek, must also be taken alongside French lessons.

ISI report

“Knightsbridge School is highly successful in meeting all of its aims. The achievements of its pupils, including those of children in the EYFS, are excellent. Pupils of all abilities, including those with SEND or EAL and the more able, make rapid progress. Many older pupils are successful in gaining entry to highly selective senior schools.”
