University Technical College South Durham opened in September 2016 and is the first UTC in the North East. With a focus on advanced manufacturing and engineering it is located at the heart of the Aycliffe Business Park, County Durham. 

We provide a high quality education for 14-19 year olds, encompassing real, relevant workplace experience in partnership with world-class companies.  Due to successful recruitment in Year 10 and 12 we are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Manufacturing. 

The chance to work in an innovative education establishment is rare and this is an exciting opportunity to join us as we continue to expand and develop; designing and delivering high quality Manufacturing courses for our students. As a leading member of the Engineering Faculty you will design and shape the Manufacturing curriculum across KS4 and KS5, set high expectations and inspire our students through making the subject relevant to the world of work and the use of industry-standard equipment.

 You will have a proven track record of bringing about transformation in an educational setting. You’ll build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, industry leaders and education partners. You can demonstrate successful leadership to inspire a team of staff to deliver the highest quality provision.

UTC South Durham is a university technical college located in County Durham. It educates students aged 14-19.

University technical colleges are state-funded technical schools that give students the skills they need to innovate and invent. UTC South Durham is the first UTC in the North East. It opened in 2016 with the aim of providing vital training in advanced manufacturing and engineering.
