Head of Mathematics

+TLR1 (2) (£9472)

From September 2018

We are looking for a new Head of Maths, a key post in our rapidly improving school. At GCSE and A level our students consistently achieve high standards of attainment and good rates of progress. We want to appoint an energetic and committed leader to build on this strong foundation. Maths has an excellent reputation in the school and is very popular at A level, with many progressing to study Mathematics at degree level.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and successful teacher and leader who has a passion for learning, high expectations and the ability to lead and motivate a team of reflective practitioners. You will be committed to the achievement of every student, and to a culture of learning for the staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person: the team is motivated, innovative and reflective with an ambitious and inclusive ethos. Our students are engaging and positive and this is reflected in achievements at every level. You will be able to shape the future of the subject and we will help you to develop as a leader, preparing you for a more senior post in time.

Situated five miles east of Oxford on a unique and historic parkland site, Wheatley Park School is a highly successful mixed 11 - 18 academy and proud member of the River Learning Trust

We are a vibrant and dynamic school with a track record of improvement and innovation in recent years. In June 2016 the school was graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We are now on the next part of our journey to becoming a sustainably ‘Outstanding’ school in accordance with our core values of Everyone Learning and Everyone Caring.

Our truly comprehensive intake is a mixture of both rural and urban with strong ethnic diversity. We work in effective partnership with parents and our local community to ensure our students are happy at school and motivated to succeed. Meanwhile, our staff work exceptionally well together, providing a collaborative and supportive professional ethos.
