FULL TIME HEAD OF MATHS

Start date: January 2019

Main Scale/UPS plus TLR (negotiable) - Permanent

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Maths for our rapidly developing Maths Department  who will be able to take the faculty forward during this important time which sees the academy on a steady road to improvement.

As a middle leader in the academy you will have a key role in steering the department through a programme of school improvement, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team in the academy and across the other academies in the Spencer Academies Trust. You will benefit from direct access to high quality CPD, regular networking opportunities with the heads of maths from across the trust and the support of a team of dedicated subject directors who along with the leadership team of the academy will guide, mentor and support the successful candidate.

To succeed in this role, you will have proven skills to inspire and motivate both pupils and colleagues across the academy. You will be passionate about ensuring that the Maths department delivers high quality teaching consistently in all lessons and positively impacts across the whole curriculum.

You will be creative as well as inspirational, committed to your own professional development and that of your colleagues in the faculty, the academy and across the Trust. You will be able to lead by example to make an immediate impact on the progress of pupils. Most of all you will love Maths and want to recreate this in young people.

We are particularly proud of the dramatic improvements in GCSE outcomes seen at Farnborough in August 2018. They were the best results the academy has ever had and confirm Farnborough is one of the most improved schools in Nottingham. This means more of our pupils than ever have been able to access college courses and apprenticeships at the highest level.
