Head of Modern Foreign Languages - TLR1b (£9,473)

We seek an enthusiastic Head of MFL, to lead the teaching of languages at all key stages.

William Ellis has been a leading school in the teaching of MFL over the years participating in a number of innovative projects. We were previously a specialist language college, working extensively to build links with local primary schools.

You would join a team of well-qualified and established MFL teachers who are highly ambitious for the students. Teaching across the team is excellent demonstrated through student outcomes and high take-up at GCSE and A Level. MFL subjects are very strongly supported by the Headteacher, Leadership Team and Governing Body.

The school currently teaches French, German and Spanish to GCSE Level – the vast majority of students continue with at least one language in Key Stage 4. These languages are also taught at A level across the consortium

The successful candidate will be:

· an outstanding teacher with excellent subject knowledge and a track record of securing excellent student progress from all starting points;

· confidently able to teach French and either Spanish or German to at least GCSE level. The ability to teach German to A Level would be an advantage. 

· an inspirational and collaborative leader with the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of young people;

· a caring and principled professional committed to social equity.
