The Head of Middle School is a new senior role which combines oversight of the academic programme and performance of our Year 9, 10 and 11 pupils, including the coordination and delivery of the tutorial and social programmes, with a wider strategic role at King Edward’s, which is in an exciting period of expansion and development.
The number of pupils in all parts of the School and particularly the day pupil contingent is forecast to grow further in the next few years. Ensuring that pupils (and their parents) have a successful academic and broader co-curriculum experience in the Middle School is a key measure of success for the post-holder in maximising retention of pupils into the Sixth Form at the School.
King Edward's School is an HMC, co-educational boarding and day school for some 420 pupils, around 62% of whom are full boarders. The school caters for broadly equal numbers of boys and girls, with main entry points at 11+, 13+ and Sixth Form. In its most recent inspection the ISI found the School to be “Excellent” in every area.
