MFL has a very strong profile within the school and the team lead the way on shared approaches to teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to drive developments in a school that values modern languages highly – we teach French, Spanish and German to students in Years 7 to 13. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will teach across the full age range and ability up to and including A Level. The capacity to teach Spanish and either French or German is essential. However, first and foremost, we are looking for an enthusiastic linguist with vision and credibility in the classroom to lead our team here.

Our vision is to be a forward-thinking and outward-looking school, where aspirations are high and ambitions unlimited. A confident community, where teaching is inspirational, every individual valued and students are resilient, successful and proud of their school.

Sheldon has a strong family feel, this is combined with high aspirations and expectations for all pupils. You will be joining the school at an exciting time of change. We have recently gone through an Ofsted inspection, where we were rate good in every area. The inspectors commented that “the school has high expectation of pupils and all students are encouraged to be the best”.

We are situated in attractive parkland on the edge of the rapidly growing market town of Chippenham, surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are good rail and road links to London, we are 5 minutes from junction 17 on the M4 and a 10-minute train journey to the beautiful Roman City of Bath.
