An opportunity has arisen for the Academy to appoint a candidate to the post of Head of Music and Performing Arts.

The Head of Music and Performing Arts is influential in maintaining and developing a creatively dynamic approach to learning within all aspects of the Performing Arts at the Academy.

The successfull candidate will:

• Have a clear vision for a dynamic and inclusive curriculum provision for the Arts that recognises the needs and context of the Partnership as a whole and caters for the individual needs of learners.
• Provide strategic direction for the Arts which identifies priorities for development.
•  Be responsible for the delivery and development of teaching and learning in Music, Dance and Drama throughout the school, ensuring that each student is positively encouraged to develop their potential to the full.
• Facilitate collaborative work in the Arts within the wider community.
• Continue the development and successful implementation of an exciting Music curriculum, that enables the highest levels of student engagement and progress in all key stages.

The successful candidate will also be committed to supporting the professional development of individual teachers and teams, and is a high profile presence and role model to staff and students alike. Within these functions and responsibilities, s/he is expected to maintain the health of the faculty for the benefit of both students and colleagues. The right candidate will need to possess a real commitment to delivering high standards for students and to the professional development of staff. A creative leader who is passionate about the subject and who has the ability to model outstanding practice, demonstrate innovative and inspirational methods of teaching whilst also being able to motivate and inspire both teachers and students will thrive in this position.

You will also have high expectations of pupil behaviour and will be able to establish a consistent level of student discipline through your team, maintaining productive and respectful relationships with students.
