We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Head of Music. The successful candidate must be a talented practitioner of Music with the ability to lead and develop the department. Applicants should be passionate about teaching Music, with the ability to teach Music at KS3, BTEC Music level 2 at KS4 and A Level Music Technology at KS5.
The department holds a variety of Music Technology resources, including, a fully equipped studio and a dedicated Mac suite for A Level Music technology. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to use the two programmes GarageBand (for KS4) and Logic Pro x (for KS5).
Music works closely with Drama in the annual school production. Recent productions include Hairspray (2018), Our House (2017) and Grease (2016). It is also desirable for candidates to have knowledge and experience of working with PA and sound equipment.
Music is a popular and highly successful option subject with 93% of students securing a BTEC Level 2 pass or higher in 2018.
