An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and inspirational Head of Music to lead our hugely popular music provision.

Required for September 2018, we are looking to appoint a creative, enthusiastic and dynamic Head of Music to lead the musical life of the School. 

The successful applicant will be an outstanding musician and educationalist with the energy and vision to lead a flourishing department and develop the prominence of music within the School.  

Music is quite rightly viewed as one of the strengths of our school, with many of our students being highly accomplished musicians who are given many opportunities to perform both for the school and for public performances.

Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated on the outskirts of St. Albans and listed in the top 30% of schools in the Country. The school is a vibrant place of activity, inclusivity and kindness which allows children to flourish and grow in confidence. Our recent Ofsted inspection grading of a ‘Good’ acknowledged the rapid improvements that have been made in the school over the last two years.

Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School is a mixed, comprehensive, Roman Catholic secondary school with sixth form situated in St Albans, Hertfordshire. It is also part of The Diocese of Westminster Academy Trust (DOWAT), which sponsors eleven faith schools in the Diocese of Westminster.

The School's last Ofsted Inspection in November 2023 rated Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School as 'Outstanding'.

The School's recent Catholic Schools Inspectorate Section 48 Inspection - March 2023 rated Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School as 'Outstanding'.
