Progress 8 scores are well above the National Average for the fifth year in a row. 80% of all grades were at 4 or higher and one third of all grades were at 7,8 or 9. Sixth Form students’ hard work has secured them places on courses at some of the very best Universities in the world.
We are seeking an outstanding PE teacher with leadership experience who has the skills, drive and ambition to lead the department to even greater success. The position could be available from either January or April 2019. You will be passionate about Physical Education and committed to securing excellent outcomes for children of all abilities. As a highly dedicated and innovative professional, you will join a dynamic team of teaching staff, all determined to ensure that the school maintains its reputation for excellence.
This appointment comes at a key time as the school has recently secured the School Games Organiser position for Tower Hamlets; which also encompasses an emphasis on developing elite sporting programmes within the borough. Other exciting initiatives are in progress with regards to developing our on-site provision.

Oaklands is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in East London. It is a community state school as well as a NSS (National Support School] that provides support to other schools. A smaller than average secondary school, it will provide 850 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18, when fully subscribed.
With over 20 years’ worth of educational success, Oaklands has been a specialist school for science since 2003 and became a specialist modern foreign language school in 2008.
