Beaconsfield High School, an outstanding girls’ grammar school, has a rare opportunity for an ambitious, energetic, highly motivated Head of PE with the vision to inspire and enthuse our students.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, creative and ambitious individual to lead a strong and vibrant Physical Education department. An ability to coach hockey or netball to an elite level is required. The post is only suitable for an experienced teacher with previous leadership responsibility/experience.
The successful candidate will lead the PE department of new and enthusiastic teachers and teach PE students of all abilities across key stages 3 and 4 in a range of different activities, and examination classes at key stage 4-5. You need to foster a collaborative approach, be prepared to work as a member of a team, have good inter-personal skills and deliver lessons that will inspire our learners to succeed. You should have an understanding of what makes an outstanding and successful learning environment for students of all abilities. We are seeking to appoint an individual who can provide opportunities in an enthusiastic and enjoyable environment, while offering the opportunities for progress along the pathway to excellence for our more talented students.
The PE curriculum is well supported by an extensive range of extra-curricular activities offered both at lunchtime and after school. Club activities encourage a large membership irrespective of ability, but from the clubs, students are selected to join squads who have further training sessions to prepare them for inter school competition.
We are therefore seeking to appoint a candidate that will be willing to lead a hugely successfully department both academically and extra-curricular wise too.
