Job overview

We are offering a fantastic opportunity to join Team Bryanston as Head of Physical Performance.

The Head of Physical Performance will lead the overall strategy and delivery of strength and conditioning in our Performance Sports, Physical Education and Wellbeing programme as a through school (3–18).

With a state-of-the-art performance gym and equipment, this facilitates a programme that supports all sports scholars and athletes who are part of both the individual and team PSP (Performance Sports Programme). This is a full and varied role in one of the leading co-educational boarding and day schools in the country, set in the beautiful county of Dorset.

The successful candidate will be leading the delivery of the Performance Sports Programme (PSP), working closely with all the Heads of Games to ensure all aspects of the strength and conditioning programmes are aligned, create a sense of belonging and promote our team-first culture. If you join the Bryanston community, you will have the benefit of working with exceptionally talented and supportive colleagues who, together, are embarking on a collective strategy that extends the high standards already set by the school.

Bryanston offers a competitive package, including meals and gym membership, in a fantastic working environment.

Bryanston is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

About Bryanston School

Bryanston is an independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 3 to 18, set in a beautiful 400-acre site near Blandford Forum in Dorset. It includes Bryanston Prep School, a co-educational day and boarding prep school in the neighbouring village of Durweston.

Founded in 1928, the school aims above all to develop the all-round talents of individual pupils. A broad, flexible academic and extra-curricular programme is offered and each pupil benefits from considerable one-to-one help and guidance from a personal tutor, subject teachers and housemaster/housemistress. Bryanston aims to combine the best of the new and the old, as befits the school motto et nova et vetera.
