An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational leader and teaching practitioner to join our vibrant and outstanding Science department. The successful candidate will lead the development of Physics across all key stages and it is essential that A level Physics can be taught to a high standard.
Swanshurst is an ‘Outstanding School’ for girls with 1760 students on roll aged 11-19 years. We offer excellent support and CPD for staff at all stages of their career.
Ofsted (2017) found pupils at Swanshurst to be “happy, well cared for and that they secure excellent academic and personal outcomes” they described the girls as “polite, respectful and courteous”. Needless to say, we are incredibly proud of them and of all our staff who contribute to the “purposeful learning culture within the school that characterises the work of staff and pupils”
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
An ideal candidate would:
• Coordinate the design and delivery of the Physics curriculum amongst a large and strong team of Science teachers and technicians.
• Be an inspirational teaching practitioner who motivates young people and ensures the learning needs of all are met, with evidence of the ability to raise standards of achievement through outstanding teaching and leadership.
• Have the ability to manage, lead and motivate colleagues successfully and collaboratively alongside other Science leaders, developing all staff within the team to achieve their full potential as practitioners.
• Aspire to further develop existing leadership skills.
• Have excellent references and appraisal documentation to support their application.
