Job overview

We require an enthusiastic and committed Head of Physics who will work within a supportive and highly successful Science faculty. 

As a key member of the team, you will be expected to teach all sciences across KS3, KS4 and physics at KS5. You must have a passion for teaching and learning in Science   together with the ability to inspire and motivate our students. You will also have the skills and personal   qualities needed to lead the physics department and work as part of a team of TLR holders within the Science faculty.

In this role you will work under the guidance of the Head of Science.  

The faculty is very committed to offering our students a range of extracurricular activities and opportunities to engage with employers and STEM organistaion; as such, the successful candidate will be expected to lead a number of these activities and contribute to the continuing development of Science, particularly physics, throughout the school.

It is intended that the role would be based at Rushcliffe School but the diversity of academies within the Group will provide fantastic opportunities for teachers to develop their practice and skills.

Rushcliffe Spencer Academy is a highly successful 11-18 comprehensive school located in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Recognised as ‘outstanding’ since 2014, inspectors concluded that “Students receive an excellent education, both academically and in their personal development, preparing them exceptionally well for the next stage of their education or for employment.”

For a number of years Rushcliffe has been one of the highest achieving schools in the region at GCSE and a high percentage of Rushcliffe Sixth Form students move on to study at the most prestigious universities.
