Job overview
We are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Primary to lead our motivated team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the strategic leadership of this crucial area of the school and fulfill a reduced teaching commitment within Years 1 - 6. Additionally they will join a creative and supportive Senior Leadership Group, playing a key role in improvement of the school.
This is an exciting time to join Beaconhouse Sri Inai International School and we welcome applications from experienced Heads of Department, Deputy Heads of School as well as any serving Heads of Primary Schools and those who are perhaps looking for an opportunity to secure their initial Senior Management position.
Ideal candidates will be well qualified Primary teachers with a sound knowledge and understanding of effective teaching of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum as well as the UK national Curriculum 2014 Experience of the Cambridge International Education Programmes is essential. They should have proven leadership skills and evidence of excellence in all aspects of their work.
Description
Beaconhouse Sri Inai International School is located in a popular area of Kuala Lumpur. We offer a broad and balanced education that recognises the importance of academic success without underestimating the role that education plays in helping pupils to develop a wider understanding of themselves and others.
Our curriculum is based upon The National Curriculum for England and the Cambridge International Curriculum that also reflects the local needs of our student body. External Examinations are available at Cambridge Primary Checkpoint tests. Students will then continue on to the Senior School where they will sit the Cambridge Secondary Check[point Examinations and IGCSE.
Memberships & Affiliations
The school is in the process of seeking membership to the Council of International Schools (CIS). We are a Centre for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and are a member of the Association of International Malaysian Schools (AIMS).
The Role
We invite dedicated and suitably qualified candidates to join us Head of Primary, the ideal candidate will:
- exercise consultative leadership a strong desire to develop an outstanding school by creating a culture where learning is greatly valued by all
- possess the ability to inspire, motivate, challenge, support and empower all students
- be committed to raising the standards of attainment and progress for all students
- demonstrate a proven track record of raising attainment at all levels and will have successful experience of leading and managing teams of teachers.
- Be willing to contribute to wider school initiatives
Contract
The initial contract will be for two years renewable by negotiation on its completion.
Interviews
Short listed candidates will be initially interviewed via the Skype network. Following these initial interviews final candidates will have a panel interview which may be held at the school, in the UK or via Skype.
