Head of Primary

BC Academy in Dubai is searching for an enthusiastic, adaptable and committed Head of Primary School. The role will include creating a positive and appropriate learning environment through the management of a school. The duties include helping deliver the highest standard of education to the students, supporting teachers and staff and ensuring an overall safe and successful school environment, reporting directly to the Principal. 

About school

BC Academy is a unique education provider. The network was founded eleven years ago to provide multilingual education to kindergarten children. Since then it has grown into a seven-campus establishment, with two International Schools, 5 Kindergartens and a new campus in the city Dubai opening in 2024.

Responsibilities: 

• Creating an academic programme for students that meets British Curriculum standards
• Working closely and communicating with students’ parents
• Helping assess students’ needs and development
• Selecting, training, supporting and assessing staff
• Providing guidance to staff to help resolve issues with students
• Using data to track student performance and produce reports
• Working with external advisors and school governors
• Controlling school finances
• Ensuring the safety of all children in the institution/programme

Our requirements

• A relevant degree and qualification
• Experience in leadership positions - 2 years or more
• Experience of current UK initiatives and developments
• Strong emphasis and desire to be outstanding in learning, teaching, and leading education and believe that children have the potential to reach the highest of expectations when in the right environment
• Capacity to support creative learning and to focus on developing 21st-century learning environments and innovation skills
• Confidence in using IT to motivate and extend student’s learning experiences
