Closing date: 28th September 2018

Interview dates: 8th and 9th October 2018

Lucas Vale is a two form entry primary school which is part of a four school federation where the vision: to empower; to inspire; to excel has been introduced and now needs to be embedded alongside high quality teaching for all.

The Governing Board and the Executive Headteacher are excited to advertise the opportunity for an established senior leader, with a track record of raising children’s achievement through high quality professional development, to become our head of school.

The successful candidate will have a secure understanding of outstanding teaching for learning and will be dedicated to research, ensuring that our teachers receive the very best CPD. Children, parents, support staff, teachers, leaders and governors must all feel secure in the direction the school is being taken and they must be part of that process.

Lucas Vale’s partnership with Grinling Gibbons, Fairlawn and Haseltine offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work closely with the Executive Headteacher and the three heads from those schools and the Teaching School. We strongly believe in school to school support and working in partnership.

We need a head who can drive a culture of no excuses and high expectations. Someone who can further develop the leadership at every level and provide clear direction for Lucas Vale’s stakeholders.

The successful candidate will:

· work alongside the Executive Head to develop and apply the vision for Lucas Vale Primary;

· determine, implement and monitor the quality of teaching for learning across the school;

· ensure the efficient and effective deployment of staff and resources;

· hold accountability for the performance of Lucas Vale Primary;

· lead, empower and drive staff to achieve success.

We are searching for an individual who:

· demonstrates a clear understanding of what constitutes excellent learning from creative concepts to practical application;

· holds a track record in raising teaching standards, ensuring progression and attainment for all pupils with a desire to embed a culture of continuous development for all;

· possesses extensive interpersonal skills to create and effectively communicate the school vision to all key stakeholders;

· demonstrates a commitment to providing an inclusive environment for children with SEND requirements;

· is an outstanding teacher – as a leader of teaching, we are searching for an individual who understands what exceptional learning looks like in the classroom and recognises how to achieve it;

· inspires, motivates, empowers and leads all to achieve;

· is able to work with other leaders in the federation in a mutually supportive manner

Lucas Vale is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced criminal records check via the Disclosure & Barring Service. Please visit the school website to view our safeguarding policy.
