Irchester Community Primary School opened in September 2002 after the amalgamation of the former Infant and Junior Schools. There has been a school in the village since 1848. We have built on those traditions and are at the heart of a caring vibrant learning community in the centre of Irchester. We accommodate 420 pupils taught in single year groups with two parallel classes in each year.

In 2019, a new Multi-Academy Trust (the Nene Valley Partnership) was established which now comprises of Wollaston School, Irchester Community Primary School, Bozeat Community Primary School and Cogenhoe Primary School. We share a mission to deliver ‘Excellence in Education’ for the benefit of the children in our local communities. Irchester is a founding member of the Nene Valley Partnership and is a school with a proud and successful tradition, matched by an ambitious and creative approach to the future.

The staff and governors are committed to providing the highest quality of education and care for every child in our school. We believe this is best achieved through creating an open and positive partnership between home and school. Through working together, we can provide the personalised learning experiences required to ensure every child is happy, successful and can develop to the best of their ability.

We take pride in not only our academic achievements but also that Irchester Community Primary School is known above all else for its nurturing approach to individuals. With impressive facilities such as our Science Lab_13, our captivating reading cottage as part of our well stocked library, boasting its own librarian and a fantastic, full time, ‘Family Link Worker/ELSA’, we are committed to developing a love of learning in all our pupils.

As a values-based education school we promote the values of kindness, care and respect, creating a strong positive ethos and happy environment with high standards of behaviour, consideration and cooperation with others.

At Irchester Community Primary School we support all our pupils.  We do this by providing high quality classroom teaching supplemented by interventions to support vulnerable learners as and when required.  The School Leadership Team and Governing Body monitor the impact of all spending and interventions, including the Pupil Premium.

We are unique in having a dedicated science space in our primary school, known as Lab 13. The lab is managed by the pupils, for them to devise experiments driven by their curiosity and imagination, ably supported by our scientist in residence. We are a centre of excellence for primary science, providing training opportunities for local teachers and workshops for children.
