Job overview

Head of School.

Competitive remuneration and ongoing progression. Suited to an experienced Deputy Headteacher, current Head of School, or a senior leader with turnaround experience.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive secondary academy, based in Staffordshire. The school is looking to appoint a Head of School to their progressive and supportive academy ideally starting in September 2021.

As Head of School, you will lead by example. You will have strategic oversight over the day-to-day operations at the school and will lead, making improvements to ensure the best outcome for the school's pupils and bridging the gap. The school is well on its ways to Good and requires a senior leader to lead with incremental improvements to ensure at least a 'Good' rating in its next Ofsted visit.

“The school is part of a family of schools brought together by one common vision and passionate belief that each and every child can lead a remarkable life. An excellent education transforms lives and every pupil who attends one of our schools is given the support, care and opportunity they need to flourish. Whether you are a senior leader working towards your first headship or an experienced Head of School seeking a new challenge this is an exciting opportunity to take our school forward.  Which is where you come in!

You will work alongside the Executive Headteacher and Director of Secondary to drive a positive outcome at the next inspection and beyond.  Through the role, you will set clear expectations, be a role model and a strong presence in the school. The role will require you to continue to raise standards at pace with a team that is committed to doing so.  You will have a passion for school improvement and be able to lead and support a creative approach to learning.  If you are driven, resilient, and relish a challenge this is the right opportunity for you.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leader looking to combine the experience of running a school with the benefit of working as part of a national trust. You will be joining the leading inclusive educational trust in the country - one where you have more opportunities to forge your own path, where your work is truly valued, and where you will receive the recognition and rewards to motivate you to build on your achievements.”

The school is offering:

• A super supportive and highly visible support network including an Executive Principal, SEN, and Primary Directors;

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as NPQEL and MA in Educational Leadership

• progression support throughout the school and wider group

• support package for Senior Leaders including support from the Trust, Executive Headteacher and Education Directors

• the chance to take on further responsibility such as Trust Leadership roles in the future.

• a relevant Education or relevant Degree

• experience of leading a school with an improvement plan in place either as a Senior Leader, Deputy or Head of School

• demonstrated impact working as a senior leader in an 11 - 16 secondary school enviorment

• a love and passion for education.
