The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Science to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.

About the Role

Our school follows the UK national curriculum to IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme post-16.  Biology, Chemistry and Physics are taught as separate subjects at IGCSE and IB.  The UK national curriculum is followed at Key Stage 3 with additional aspects to complement our local context. The successful candidate will lead and inspire the teachers and students of Science to achieve amazing outcomes in all aspects of their learning. Classroom resources are plentiful and expectations are high for achievement for all students. Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents is essential and is a key part of maximising student progress. Selection Process

Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Head Teacher/Principal.

The closing date for application is 14th January 2018. First stage interviews will be conducted by Skype or telephone and final interviews will take place at the Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing 29th January 2018. Alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person.

The start date is mid-August 2018.

BIS Abu Dhabi is a growing school; we currently serve more than 2000 students from 3 to 18 years old that follow the best in British and international curricula, including the English National Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and BTEC (Business).

Students follow the English National Curriculum from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 11. Students in Years 12 and 13 follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the newly introduced BTEC Business Programme.
