LEADERSHIP VACANCY AT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BRUNEI FOR AUGUST 2018

International School Brunei, established in 1964, an established not-for-profit organization of repute, is looking for a well-qualified, committed team player to become Head of the Secondary phase as a member of the Senior Management Team. The school currently occupies two sites: the main site in the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan has 1300+ students and the site in the oil town of Kuala Belait, 60 miles to the south, has a roll of 150 students. Our Bandar site is a new, purpose-built, multi-million-dollar campus, with all amenities, opened in 2015. The vacant post is based at the Bandar campus.

Brunei itself is an oil-rich sultanate, managing to blend some truly beautiful rainforests and beaches with easy access to a wide range of western retail products: a very positive combination for an agreeable lifestyle. It does truly offer a pollution-free, fantastic family-friendly environment, with the added bonus of easy travel around the region through a myriad of direct and indirect flights to most other parts of Asia. Living costs are relatively low and the post includes a competitive tax-free salary plus benefits such as three free child places, travel allowances, medical care and settling-in package.

The school offers the EYFS programme for Early Years, an adapted UK National Curriculum from Year 1 to Year 8, followed by IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Our students enjoy healthy examination pass rates with almost one third of all IGCSE exams taken between 2013 & 2017 graded A/A* and an IB Diploma pass rate of 95%; scores which consistently exceed world average. The healthy multi-cultural and family atmosphere is enriched by a student roll of 43 different nationalities and a faculty mainly derived from the UK and New Zealand, with another 16 countries represented.

ISB is accredited by CIS (Council of International Schools), a member of (FOBISIA) Federation of British International Schools in Asia and is an aspiring Eco Schools Green Flag school. We also have the prestigious BCA Eco Greenmark accreditation

The School is strictly not-for-profit, governed by a Board of twelve Directors elected from the parent community. The Senior Management Team comprises the Executive Principal, Head of Primary, Head of Secondary, Operations Manager, Chief Financial Officer and HR Manager.

The core requirements of the role are to provide vision, leadership and sound educational and management practice to the Secondary Phase as well as being a major force in contributing to the overall development of the whole School as a vital member of the Senior Management Team.
