Head of Senior School
OBJECTIVES
The Head of Senior School must provide professional and energetic leadership of learning and teaching and secure the highest quality of pastoral care, in association with the subject leaders. The Head of Senior School will provide guidance and support to all Senior School staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead on teaching, learning and assessment and be accountable for the educational standards across the Senior School
2. Lead pastoral care with oversight of wellbeing of all pupils in the Senior School
3. Be an active member of the SLT and other staff teams as appropriate
4. To lead the SMT to ensure teaching and learning is at the forefront of all decision making
5. Direct curriculum and assessment subject leaders to ensure continuity and progression throughout the school
6. Liaise with administrative departments to ensure efficient administrative management of the school
7. To be a figurehead in the promotion of Wellington College International Hangzhou’s aims, standards and ideals and to model these both in the school and in the wider community
8. Control budgets and finances within the Senior School and offer direction and support to Senior School subject leaders when aspects of financial responsibility are delegated to them
9. Report to the Master on all issues relating to the efficient management and organisation of the Senior School
10. Under the direction of the Master, to be responsible for the recruitment and employment of all Senior School academic and administrative support staff
11. Be innovative and forward thinking and to ensure the school is recognised worldwide for its success.
