Head of Senior School Sport
Due to the success of Sport & Exercise (SpEx) at Highgate an opportunity has arisen to appoint an inspirational and suitably experienced individual as Head of Senior School Sport in this academically selective, coeducational, North London day school.
The Head of Senior School Sport will lead the management and delivery of Sport in Years 7-13. The role is suitable for someone passionate about the value of sport for young people, who has a proven track record of coaching excellence, developing sporting passion and talent in others, and who understands the part sport has to play in school communities. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to sport or already has experience of leading a sporting programme.
The Head of Senior School Sport will have particular responsibility for ensuring consistency of sporting experience across all pupils and sports, whether at entry or elite level, in line with the overall direction agreed with the Co-Directors of SpEx. This will also include maintaining and developing links with external providers.
The successful applicant will be knowledgeable about recent developments in sports education and show commitment to being involved in the evolution of SpEx. They will teach and coach across the SpEx programme as required, promote high levels of pupil participation in sport, develop potential and drive excellence across all sporting pathways.
The post-holder will be jointly responsible for the line management of a team of specialist teachers and coaches. They will themselves be managed by a member of the school’s Senior Team.
